Resistance factions join the conflict, seeking to repel the alien invaders. In response, the enemy deploys the "Chosen"—enemies seeking to return the XCOM Commander to the Elders. The expansion also introduces new classes, enemies, missions, and combat conditions. NEW FACTIONS AND HEROES Three additional factions have formed within the Resistance: the Reapers, the Skirmishers, and the Templars. Each faction possesses unique abilities and philosophies that often conflict with those of their fellow comrades. Each faction deploys experienced heroes to aid you and opens up new strategic opportunities. THE CHOSEN XCOM has never faced enemies as cunning as the Chosen, each with unique strengths and weaknesses that evolve from campaign to campaign. Hunting for the Chief, the Chosen seek to capture, interrogate, and eliminate XCOM soldiers. They can also wreak havoc on the strategic level, wreaking havoc on XCOM operations. Seek out and storm their strongholds to eliminate them once and for all. NEW ALIENS AND ADVENT THREATS A deadly new alien known as the "Wraith" enters the fray: it can create copies of XCOM soldiers. You´ll need to develop new tactics to deal with it, as well as the fiery attacks of the Purifiers and the psionic abilities of the ADVENT Priests. NEW OBJECTIVES AND CONDITIONS Tactical operations will take you to abandoned cities devastated by alien bioweapons, underground tunnels, and thickets of alien fauna. EXPANDED STRATEGIC LAYER You will manage XCOM´s relationships with factions, defend the Avenger from the Chosen, and issue orders to the Resistance in accordance with your chosen strategy. Now you can send soldiers, scientists, and engineers on covert missions that, if successful, will earn you resources and increase your reputation with the factions. VARIETY AND UNIQUE REPLAYABILITY Soldiers form bonds with their comrades, gaining new abilities. The SITREP system unpredictably changes the conditions of tactical operations, turning each one into a unique challenge. Advanced campaign settings allow you to tailor the length and difficulty of the game to your preferences. CHALLENGE MODE Find the perfect strategy and master community-chosen challenges to rise to the top of the global leaderboards. LET PEOPLE KNOW You can create your own Resistance posters, choosing the poses and appearance of your soldiers, filters, text, and background.
