The T-72B3 is a program for the overhaul and modernization of the T-72B type tanks in service with the Russian army in order to bring a number of their capabilities to the level of the T-90A. The changes include a new fire control system, a new weapon with an upgraded AZ, the Kontakt-5 dynamic protection system, and a number of other improvements.
