The action will unfold in the fictional Sakhalin archipelago. It is located in the Russian Far East and is inspired by Kamchatka. Sakhalin will be covered in snow - this is the first snow map in the history of DayZ. The map size will be 83 square kilometers. Sahal is smaller than Chernarus, the main DayZ map. But the developers did not take into account the mountainous terrain in their calculations. The gameplay will become more difficult. Frostline will feature frostbite mechanics: to avoid freezing, you will have to warm yourself by fires and wait out the cold weather inside houses. Food can freeze and will need to be heated before eating.
